Christmas morning’s portable, fun-size festivity, stockings can be both a delight and a conundrum to fill. When faced with a dearth of options, it’s always enlightening to brainstorm the preferences of your stocking recipient . . . practical minimalism? Extreme crafting? Organizing? Build outward from what you know, and begin keeping an eye out for those categories while you’re out and about. One of the nicer things about gift-giving is that it leads us to think more about the other person, and to spend time looking through their eyes.
